SMW Autoblok (www.smwautoblok.com) has introduced the TX Pull-Down Chucks with repeatability of 0.01 mm (0.0004 in.) and the capability of operating under aggressive milling and turning operations.

The chucks are designed for secondary machining operations in which high levels of accuracy and parallelism are required.

The company said the chucks disperse cutting forces over a wide area and are designed to operate with less wear than other pull-down chucks. That is important for applications that have heavy tool loads, such as milling or interrupted turning, and also allows the chucks to hold their accuracy over an extended period of time.

The master jaws are pinned to the chuck body, and the chucks are completely sealed. They can run six months in round-the-clock operation without additional lubrication. TX Pull-Down Chucks are available in 8-in., 10-in. and 12-in. sizes.
