Changing bandsaw blades can be frustrating and even dangerous because they do not stay put during the process. To keep blades in place, I use two scrap pieces of 0.500 or 0.750-in.-wide banding or 0.020-in.-thick shim stock.
I bend the pieces to the profile of the top band wheel, leaving a small amount sticking out to hang on to. With these two clips set at about 120 degrees apart, one end of the blade remains in place as I slip it through the saw guides and onto the bottom band wheel.
