Small Boring Bars

Mini Shaft small boring bars from Seco Tools Inc. ( www.secotools.com) have replaceable cutting heads with a serrated link between insert and tool holder to achieve the high stability and reliability required for high precision, small component machining. The Mini Shaft system is designed for internal turning, grooving, precision grooving, profiling, backfacing and threading applications.

The Mini Shaft is available in two sizes for use in holes as small as 0.315 in. (8 mm), and the double serration joint provides accuracy of ±0.0008 in. (±0.02 mm) The bars are available in steel and carbide with through-coolant capability. The same bar can be used with right- and left-handed inserts.
