Sept. 25, 2024
Two hangars at the Fort Worth airport will comprise a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul operation for a growing number of E-Jets in service in the U.S.

Aircraft builder Embraer plans to open a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) center in Fort Worth, Tex., to service and support an expanding number of its E-Jets operating in the U.S.  The center will begin operation early next year in an existing hangar at the Perot Field Alliance Airport, a second hangar will be built to open there in late 2027.

Embaer confirmed its project is being developed in cooperation with city, county, and state authorities, but did not report the cost of its investment.

“This expansion will significantly increase the capacity, capability, and footprint of our services network by providing world-class support to our customers and the growing fleet of E-Jets in North America,” according to Carlos Naufel, president and CEO of Embraer Services & Support.

Embraer’s E-Jets twin-engine, narrow-body aircraft available in four models for 66 to 124 passengers, and typically in service as regional jets.

Among the largest U.S. operators of E-Jets are American Airlines, Alaska Airlines (Horizon Air), Envoy Air, JetBlue, Republic Airways, and SkyWest Airlines. American, Republic, and SkyWest have firm orders in place for more than 160 new E-Jets.

The new Fort Worth service center will join a global network of 80 Embraer-authorized centers and 12 owned service centers around the world.
