PARLEC, a member of Techniks Tool Group, released a line of made-in-USA BMT65 toolholders made from ductile iron. According to the developer, ductile iron has 6.6X the vibration-damping properties of alloy steels, thereby enhancing cutting tool performance and extending tool life.
Also, the higher graphite content of ductile iron reduces friction and prevents premature wear of the toolholder.
Parlec BMT65 toolholders fit on many BMT65 lathe turrets, including those manufactured by Haas, Doosan, Daewoo, Hwacheon, and Hyundai, among others.
BMT65 tool holders are available in I.D. styles for 1-in., 1.5-in., 25-mm, and 40-mm tool diameters for single-sided holders; and in 1,24-inch tool diameter for double-sided holders. O.D. style holders are available in 1-in. and 25-mm tool diameters for both single and double-sided setups.
