Flow International Corp. (), manufacturer of ultrahigh-pressure waterjet systems, has received purchase orders for four systems under a recently awarded contract with aerospace company Airbus. As part of the contract, Flow will supply Airbus with composite machining center (CMC) abrasive waterjets and routing machine tool systems to support the production of the A-350XWB aircraft.
The recent orders were for a CMC to machine keel beam sections in Nantes, France, a CMC to machine cockpit sections in Meaulte, France, a CMC to machine forward fuselage panels in Nordenham, Germany, and a CMC to machine forward fuselage panel sections in Illescas, Spain. The value of the order exceeds $13 million in revenue.
