Tool-grinding specialist ANCA will present the new GCX Linear skiving machine at IMTS 2022 – booth 237406 – a “complete solution” for customers producing cutters and hobs used by manufacturers supplying the electric automotive sector.
According to ANCA, the auto industry's electrification efforts and the general rise of e-mobility is driving demand for skiving cutters to 30% year-on-year growth. The GCX Linear allows manufacturers to tap into this rapidly developing market, including the ability to produce skiving cutters and shaper cutters, and to regrind hobs. The new machine is provided with advanced stand-alone software to design and optimize tools, interfaced with the gear tool package in ANCA's ToolRoom software.
The GCX Linear is designed for accuracy with features that include all axes with LinX linear motors and an enhanced headstock.
Also, GCX Linear boasts a series of technologies – AEMS dressing, MTC on grinding spindle and dresser spindle, integrated gear tool measurement and direct compensation – for producing skiving tools that achieve the highest DIN AA quality class.
ANCA has developed what it calls “the world-first integrated gear tool measurement system,” which makes it possible for all the grinding-measuring-compensation to be done in the machine.
