Mazak Corp. has put forth a three-part "holistic digital customer experience" — including an introduction of its latest multi-purpose five-axis CNC machine — to give access and information to manufacturers, despite restrictions on interpersonal contact, but in line with continuing technological and competitive requirements. The machine-tool builder is offering:
• A new, interactive tour of its development center and manufacturing operations in Florence, Ken.;
• An immersive, Virtual Technology Center; and,
• All Axes™ Live, an ongoing series of online events during which attendees will have exclusive access to never-before-seen Mazak manufacturing technology.
The first installment of All Axes Live from Mazak’s Midwest Technology Center is scheduled for August 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM ET.
“At Mazak, we are in a unique position to understand the changing needs and expectations of North American manufacturers, both as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ever-increasingly competitive business landscape,” stated Mazak Corp. president Dan Janka. “As a local manufacturer, we have challenged ourselves to be agile and find new ways of doing business. Our new digital experience applies what we’ve learned to provide unprecedented access to our products, technology, customer support and expertise, and most importantly, puts our customers in the driver’s seat.”
Five-axis machine unveiling — The first installment of All Axes Live, Mazak will launch the new Variaxis C-600 five-axis machining center and its dedicated Mazatrol SmoothAi CNC, as well as new automation solutions. Described as "user-friendly and cost-effective," the Variaxis C-600 is offered as a first step into five-axis machining for shops of all sizes, allowing production with increased speed, stability and power, as well as for maximum tool capacity.
Variaxis C-600 integrates with two-pallet changers, overhead gantry loaders/unloaders and standalone robots.
Automation to be highlighted during All Axes Live will include the RoboJob TA200, with an articulating robot with a 44.1-lb. (20 kg) payload capacity and dedicated loading/unloading station, and equipped with an Area Scanner for establishing a safe, open layout. The robot’s dual three-jaw grippers can accommodate parts ranging from 0.39 to 6.69 in. (10 to 170 mm) in diameter, while a simple, fixed-workpiece table ensures easy loading of pre-cut stacks of raw material and unloading of finished parts with minimal operator intervention.
Like Mazak's All Axes podcast, All Axes Live will offer participants a range of on-demand educational sessions, facility tours, live cutting demonstrations, and the ability to ask questions in real time.
More details and online registration will be available beginning July 6, 2020, at www.MazakUSA.com .
