Vericut is CNC software for machine simulation, verification and optimization software that eliminates the process of ‘proving-out’ NC programs manually. It reduces scrap loss and rework, and optimizes NC programs in order to save time and produce higher-quality surface finish.
CGTech will exhibit version 7.2 of its Vericut CNC machine simulation and optimization software, which it reports offers a number of improvements that improve speed, thereby reducing the time required for manufacturing engineers to develop, analyze, inspect and document the CNC programming and machining process. Along with these new features, added “proactively” by CGTech, its program engineers are implementing “hundreds of customer-driven enhancements,” the software developer reported.
Vericut is CNC machine simulation, verification and optimization software that lets users eliminate the process of ‘proving-out’ NC programs manually. It reduces scrap loss and rework. The program also optimizes NC programs in order to save time and produce higher-quality surface finish. Vericut simulates all types of CNC machine tools — including those from manufacturers such as Mori Seiki, Mazak, Makino, Matsuura, Hermle, DMG, DIXI, and Chiron. Vericut runs standalone, but it can be integrated with other CAM systems, too — such as Catia, NX, Creo Parametric (Pro/E), MasterCAM, EdgeCAM, hyperMILL, Esprit and GibbsCAM.
“For Vericut 7.2 we continue to focus on the customer's use of Vericut and how we can improve the simulation process effectiveness,” stated Bill Hasenjaeger, product marketing manager. “We added features to the user interface to simplify the most common user actions and invested significant developer hours to increase speed by more thoroughly taking advantage of multiple processors and background processing.”
Another new feature is the ability to optimize an NC program from a saved simulation. Users can adjust and re-optimize without rerunning the simulation. A new interactive panel displays cutting conditions immediately anywhere in the machining process. The user can navigate the NC program to evaluate cutting conditions and quickly see the results of adjustments to optimization settings.
Also, CGTech will be demonstrating Vericut Composite Applications at IMTS. Vericut Composite Applications are machine-independent off-line programming and simulation software solutions for automated composite tape and fiber-placement CNC machines. There are two separate applications: Vericut Composite Programming (VCP) & Vericut Composite Simulation (VCS).
