Bell Helicopter Announces Layoffs |
Officials at Bell Helicopter said the company would lay off approximately 500 workers, about 4 percent of its Bell Helicopter workforce and includes a 20 percent reduction in the management-level staff. BorgWarner Inc. said it expects to get $2.1 billion in new powertrain business for 2009 through 2011, an 8 percent increase over its previous three-year new business despite the contraction currently occurring within the global auto industry. Demand for the company's environmentally friendly technologies such as gasoline and diesel turbochargers and dual-clutch transmission technology is expected to continue to drive a growth rate for the company that exceeds that of the overall auto industry. Ford To Produce New Low CO2 Engines In Wales |
Ford announced a new investment program at its high-tech Bridgend engine plant in Wales to produce next generation low CO2 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engines.
