South Asias largest machine tool exhibition to be held in Bangalore, India

The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (www.imtma.com) will hold the largest exhibition of machine tools and manufacturing solutions in South and Southeast Asia – IMTEX 2007 – at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore, India, January 18th through January 24th. The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association concurrently is hosting Tooltech 2007, an international exhibition of cutting tools and tooling technology systems.
“IMTEX and Tooltech is the launch-pad of the machine tool industry’s globalization process and will be the show-window of India’s world-class competitiveness in manufacturing technologies,” said Shailesh Sheth, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association media chairman. “The exhibition will display ‘live’ machine tools and manufacturing solutions from all the world’s best known brands in this product segment.”
IMTEX, 50,000 sq. meters (almost 540,000 sq. ft.) will feature 1,163 exhibitions representing 25 countries and more than 95 percent of India’s machine tool industry.
“The domestic machine tool industry performed exceedingly well with a 40 percent growth in the first half of 2006-07, and is expected to record an over 35 percent growth for the fiscal year,” said C. P. Rangachar, president of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association. “The industry will register a 25 percent growth in the next two years as well. It will truly mark the coming of age of this strategically important sector,” added Rangachar.
Held every three years, IMTEX 2007 is amongst the five largest international shows, globally. In its 38th year, IMTEX has grown over the years into a sought after global event for the entire industry. Tooltech 2007 has a comprehensive display of metalworking machine tools, cutting tools, tooling systems, machine tool accessories, metrology and CAD/CAM.
