Hitachi Gets Order For Commercial Vehicle Hybrid System
Hitachi, Ltd. and Hitachi Vehicle Energy, Ltd., which manufactures lithium-ion batteries for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and other uses, today announced that they have been awarded an order from U.S.-based Eaton Corporation to supply motors, inverters, lithium-ion batteries and other components for Eaton’s hybrid power systems to be delivered through 2011. Plans call for commercial vehicles using Eaton’s hybrid system to be rolled out in markets in North America, Europe and Asia. Read More

Court Decision On Transmission Patent Infringement Suit
ArvinMeritor, Inc., ZF Friedrichshafen AG, and ZF Meritor, LLC said they won a patent infringement suit brought by Eaton Corp. on the ZF FreedomLine transmission. The suit was heard before a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and was initially filed on December 1, 2003. Read More
