Alcoa buys two aerospace fastener mfgs.

Aluminum maker Alcoa Inc. (www.alcoa.com) has bought two aerospace fastener manufacturers, Republic Fastener Manufacturing Corp. and Van Petty Manufacturing, from The Wood Family Trust. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The two businesses are located in Newbury Park, Calif., and employ a combined total of 240 people.
