The SME's premier annual West Coast exposition, Westec, has become the centerpiece of a manufacturing trade event the SME is calling the "Total Manufacturing Experience." Along with Westec, the SME will host its annual meeting and summit conference, a conference on micro-manufacturing, a conference on nano-manufacturing, a certificate program for metalworking fluid management and a certificate program for lean manufacturing all in the same four-day period. Details of the conferences are available at the SME's web site, www.sme.org.
The four-day event runs from Monday, March 27 through Thursday, March 30, with the Westec 2006 Advanced Productivity Exposition as its focal point. Westec is North America's largest annual manufacturing and metalworking event, and features the latest manufacturing equipment that reflects emerging technologies. Exhibitors include leading equipment and tooling manufacturers, distributors, technology products and supplier services.
The following brief summaries provide a glimpse of some of the equipment that a variety of companies will introduce at Westec.
