To meet customer production needs, MC Machinery Systems Inc. has added waterjet cutting from Mitsubishi EDM (www.mitsubishi-world.com) to its current product lineup. MC Machinery Systems displayed three models of waterjet systems powered by Mitsubishi CNC, including the 2-axis Classica, 4-axis with tilt-head Dinamica and the 5-axis Evolution.

The machines are available with one or two heads and feature stainless steel tables that provide easy maintenance and clean cutting conditions. Mitsubishi motors and drivers are part of the packages, and 60-hp pumps deliver fast cutting.

The Classica models have 2D CAD/CAM software and nesting capabilities and are designed to let shops cut parts accurately and repeatability to ±0.004 in. The Dinamica and Evolution models have Intelligent Tapering Control within their software that automatically corrects for tapering during cutting. Machine CNCs tilt the high-pressure waterjets ±7 degrees for increased cutting speeds in part contours, and both models are accurate and repeatable to ±0.001 in.

As 3D systems, the Evolution models sport self-positioning rotation point devices on material to automatically maintain constant distances from machine nozzles to workpieces. This protects machine nozzles through a working range from flat workpieces to contoured interpolations of ± 69 degrees.
