Caterpillar to Spend $1 Billion to Expand Illinois Manufacturing Operations
Caterpillar Inc. said it intends to spend $1 billion over the next several years in a capacity expansion that will position key factories in Illinois and other areas to compete for the long term. The investments will allow Caterpillar to meet continued demand and bolster its global leadership for machines used primarily in mining and large infrastructure applications. Ford Sells Atlanta Assembly Plant to Jacoby Development
Ford Motor Company said it has sold its Atlanta Assembly Plant property in Hapeville, Ga., to Jacoby Development Inc. Jacoby will redevelop the 122-acre site adjacent to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport into an "aerotropolis" - an aviation-intensive business district that is expected to include office, retail, restaurant, hotel and airport parking. Lear Buys Majority Interest In Automotive Fabric Business
Lear Corp. said it agreed to acquire a 75 percent share of the automotive fabric business of New Trend Group Co., Ltd. (NewTrend Group), a privately held company founded in 1986 that produces automotive interior fabric and commercial plastic goods. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Read More
