Midwestern engineering technologies firm acquires SolidWorks reseller

Fisher/Unitech ( www. funtech.com) an engineering technologies firm serving the Midwest with Product Lifecycle Management solutions to discrete manufacturing companies, announced that it has completed its acquisition of Solid Insight, a SolidWorks reseller with more than 200 successful CAD/CAM implementations.
The acquisition is expected to further extend Fisher/Unitech’s position as a SoldiWorks reseller and PLM consulting organization and enable them to offer Solid Insight’s customers more comprehensive technical service via SupportExpress, the company’s web-based portal. Fisher/Unitech says another customer benefit is access to their 3DU online education system. They say they are the only SolidWorks reseller in North America to offer staffed SolidWorks courses online via an interactive environment.
Solid Insight’s operations in Dayton, Ohio, will continue without interruption and become a branch office of Fisher/Unitech.
