Walter USA (www.walter-tools.com) has introduced new cutting materials for all steel turning applications, from roughing, to medium machining operations to fine finishing. Walter USA’s new WPP01 and WPP05 Tiger-tec cutting materials have a special carbide substrate and an improved aluminium oxide layer that the company said prevents plastic deformation and cratering. The WPP05 grade is designed for medium machining operations and roughing, and under good conditions, is effective at high cutting speeds and stock removal rates. The WPP01 grade, with sharp cutting edges, is for finishing work.
