Endmill selection for gear teeth "At work, an engineer and I are experimenting with our CNC vertical mill. We have a project that involves cutting the teeth on a small bevel gear. Should a ball nose endmill be used to cut the contours of the teeth?" Polishing a crank pin "My Listeroid diesel has a few scratches on the surface of the crank pin that I want to get rid of. I've never done any metal polishing to a mirror like finish and could use some advice on techniques, materials to use etc." Very large one-person manual shops.
