Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. acquires K-R Automation

Expanded controls engineering and panel build operations to satisfy customer demand

Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. (AMT) (www.appliedmfg.com), a supplier of factory automation design, engineering and process consulting services today announced that it has acquired K-R Automation, a Warren, Mich. based automation controls design, engineering and panel manufacturing company. The acquisition is effective immediately, and is expected to enhance AMT’s ability to meet growing customer demand for controls engineering, design, software and panel fabrication.

“K-R has been one of the premier controls engineering companies in factory automation for more than 50 years,” Mike Jacobs, president and chief executive officer of AMT said.

K-R Automation will be folded into AMT’s existing operations. AMT will maintain K-R’s current manufacturing and engineering facility at Centerwood Drive in Warren, Mich. John Frank will assume a new role on AMT’s executive team, reporting to Mike Jacobs.
