Honeywell to Close Pennsylvania Plant

May 28, 2013
“… continually evaluates its operations to ensure a competitive business"

Honeywell Process Solutions, a business unit of Honeywell International, plans to close a plant in York, Penn., by early 2014, affecting over 100 workers there.

“Honeywell continually evaluates its operations to ensure a competitive business model aimed at long-term growth and profitability, and is linked to the needs of our customers. After careful consideration, Honeywell Process Solutions leadership has decided to close the York site and redistribute work across the company,” the company’s statement offered.

The reasons for the closing were not announced. Honeywell recently reported first-quarter sales of $9.3 billion.

The York plant produces control devices and regulators for natural gas processing. The work orders will be redirected to other Honeywell plants, and workers will be invited to apply for other positions in the organization.

“We are committed to supporting the affected employees through this process, and meeting and exceeding customer expectations for quality and delivery,” the announcement continued.
