Soft brick vise

Nov. 10, 2005
Stevens Engineering Inc. has developed a soft-jaw vise that eliminates the need for changing vise jaws.
Stevens Engineering Inc. has developed a soft-jaw vise that eliminates the need for changing vise jaws. The company's Soft Brick vise is made of 6061 aluminum and is a soft jaw in itself. The company said it can be machined with a cavity up to 6-inches long by 1-inch deep.

It has a jaw-lock pin to clamp the vise during cavity machining, and when the pin is removed, parts clamp with up to 5,000 pounds of pressure. A universal mounting pattern fits onto Stevens subplate grid patterns, T-slotted machine tables and tombstone faces. www.stevenseng.com
