Tong-Tai Seiki U.S.A Inc.'s parent company — Ton-Tai (Topper) — introduced a multi-tasking machining center at the TIMTOS-05 trade show in Taiwan in late August. Its TB-25-LYMB is a turning center and a four-axis machining center, using an independent axis design. The machine's X, Y and Z axes move independently. The axes are positioned at 90 degrees to each other, and the machine does not require two-axis movement for Y motion. The company says the machine's ability to perform as a turning and four-axis machining center helps to reduce processing time for parts needing turning, off-center milling, drilling and tapping. www.tongtaiusa.com
