Monza Corp. has added features to its Model CNC 1 entry-level centerless grinders that previously were available only on its more advanced grinders. The company says its Model CNC 1 features Fanuc Powermate I D controls that store program parameters for different parts and provide control for the new option of Constant Surface Speed (CSS) on the entry-level machines. The Fanuc CNC controls the machines' regulating wheels and work-rest slides through brushless, digital servo drive motors equipped with encoder-positioning feedbacks. The slide movement is actuated through a high-precision, planetary-roller satellite screw that has a 0.08-in. pitch and a multilead design that the company says eliminates backlash. The minimum programmable increment is 0.000020 in. CNC cycles include thru-feed and in-feed for both rough and finish feedrates, programmable dwell, and spark-out times. The controls also have operating cycles such as jog, single step (in-feed), single and continuous cycles, and include slide positioning, zero setting and touchscreen size correction.www.monza.us
