ICMC 2014 & eniPROD Colloquium 2014

April 8th - 9th, 2014 • Chemnitz, SN

Past Event:

The Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU and the cluster of excellence "Energy-efficient Product and Process Innovations in Production Engineering" (eniPROD) at Chemnitz University of Technology are hosting a pair of international conferences.
The "3rd International Chemnitz Manufacturing Colloquium" ICMC 2014 will focus on the interactions between machine, control system, process, tool and workpiece in machining operations, under the heading "Innovations of Sustainable Production for Green Mobility". The conference will offer solutions for sustainable production and green transportation along the entire process chain. The ICMC 2014 will be supported by the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP).
The "3rd eniPROD Colloquium 2014" will take place simultaneously at the same venue. Addressing the topic "Energy-Efficient Technologies in Production", alongside examples of best practice from the industry, the colloquium will primarily showcase research results generated since 2009 by the interdisciplinary teams that form a cluster of excellence in these technologies. Solutions for an energy-efficient and emission-neutral plant will be on show, ranging from materials and product development, production systems and process chain design to logistics and factory planning.
"By holding the two events together, the aim is not just to investigate the current trends in research and development of the two conference themes in isolation, but in particular to exploit the resultant synergy effects for the attendees", explains Dr. Welf-Guntram Drossel, Director (acting) of Fraunhofer IWU and spokesperson for the eniPROD cluster of excellence. "Under the banners of 'emission-neutral' and 'resource-efficient', we are bringing visions and solutions for current and future challenges facing car manufacturers and suppliers together with current developments in machining technology. By taking a holistic view of process chains from material through technology to factory design, we will offer participants the opportunity to exchange experience and knowledge internationally with well-known sector representatives and leading scientists."
By applying for one of the events, participants can take part in sessions for both conferences and switch between them on site as they choose.
