Sandvik Coromant has three new insert grades and a new cutting geometry for cast-iron turning. The GC3205 grade is for high-speed machining of grey cast iron, GC3210 for high-speed machining of nodular cast iron, and GC3215 is for difficult conditions with all cast irons.

The KR insert handles demanding roughing conditions and reportedly reduces vibration, power consumption, and noise through low cutting forces. The insert grades and geometry work with the CoroTurn RC clamping system.
