New Crownloc drills from Seco-Carboloy (www.carboloy.com)are available with ISO 9766 flat shanks and shoulders that the company says are optimized for high cutting speeds and increased bending stability, and high productivity and tool life. The Crownloc drills are designed with flanges for easy setups and to ensure the same length even when changing drill bodies.

The drills use indexable carbide crowns with two effective cutting edges for holemaking operations from 0.472-in. to 0.791-in. hole diameters, up to seven times diameter. A single drill body accommodates a number of inserts in incremental sizes and different geometries are for various materials.
