Big Kaiser Precision Tooling has introduced a new line of solid carbide drills
Big Kaiser Precision Tooling (www.bigkaiser.com)has introduced a new line of solid carbide drills that are designed to increase productivity while using low cutting forces and providing good chip control. The company's new Phoenix drills have special flutes and point geometries, and have premium coatings that the company says results in high wear resistance and good chip evacuation. The company claims 100 times more productivity with Phoenix drills than with conventional solid-carbide drills.

The standard range of the drills is from 0.04 in. to 0.16 in. in steps of 0.04 in. Drill depth is six times diameter. With internal coolant for diameters starting at 0.10 in., the company says the drills work well for cutting extra-hard materials, such as steel and cast iron, and nonferrous materials.
