Thanks to I-deas NX software, Nissan Rally Raid's racing pick-up trucks get the best combinations of speed, strength, and weight.

Nissan Rally Raid's design team accelerates its racing pickup-truck development using PLM software that seamlessly integrates design and analysis for quick computer simulations (structural analysis). By modeling and evaluating different pickup parts in a completely digital process, the team determines the best combinations of speed, strength, and weight without building expensive and time-consuming physical models.

After evaluating several CAD and CAE systems, the team chose I-deas NX Series digital product-development system from UGS. "Computer simulation is essential," says Christophe Chaplain, technical manager of Nissan Rally Raid Team. "The seamless connection between I-deas NX design and analysis tools lets us simulate to the fullest extent for optimizing our racing pickups."
