Contract manufacturer adds engineering service provider

Connecticut’s Reno Machine Co. has acquired Design Co. Inc./DECO, a supplier of engineering services for aerospace, commercial, industrial, and military markets. The value of the purchase was not announced.

Reno Machine, Newington, Conn., is a AS9100B + ISO9001:2000-certified contract manufacturer of precision-machined products for aerospace, IGT, nuclear, medical, and military customers. It specializes in tooling for composites.

DECO provides engineering services for a range of commercial, industrial and military customers. Its in-house capabilities and CAD systems (CATIA V4 & V5, Unigraphics NX, SolidWorks) provide temporary technical staffing for client projects on-site and at customers’ plants.

Ron Morris will remain as president of Design Company Inc.

“Reno Machine is very pleased with this purchase as it allows us to offer a full-service solution, from concept development right through to design, documentation, and manufacturing,” stated president Mark Occhialini. “DECO will maintain its name and customer base while it joins forces with Reno Machine to create turn-key solutions to both companies’ customers.”

Occhialini said buying DECO continues Reno’s reputation for providing customers choices and easy access to precision-machining services.
