Combines capabilities from GE Fanuc and Fanuc America, providing CNC control systems

Fanuc Ltd. has relaunched its CNC controls line of business as a new subsidiary, Fanuc CNC America. This organization results from consolidating the former GE Fanuc CNC parts business into Fanuc America Corp., and Fanuc claims it is the largest CNC sales, service, and support organization in the Americas.

Fanuc CNC America combines capabilities from GE Fanuc and Fanuc America, providing CNC control systems sales and support, engineering and technical service, on-site engineering and automation services, genuine Fanuc parts sales and repair services, hotline technical support, and more.

In December, General Electric Corp. and Fanuc Ltd. dissolved their 23-year-long joint venture. GE retained the venture’s assets relating to software, services, embedded systems, and control systems: that new company is known as GE Intelligent Platforms.

Fanuc retained the joint venture’s CNC business.

“We are extremely excited about the launch of Fanuc CNC America,” stated president and CEO Tomo Ishibe, former v.p./general manager of GE Fanuc’s CNC business. “By combining the strengths of both organizations we provide a stronger, more unified face to customers, whether they are end users, machine tool builders, distributors or systems integrators across all major industries. Our new company provides a single source of end-to-end CNC solutions for customers everywhere.”
